I'm using Firefox 23.0.1. What will happen if I was to uninstall IE-8 completely ?

It is not advisable to uninstall IE8, DO NOT DO IT.
By all means allow Firefox to be the default browser.


  • It will not be easy to do and some components of IE8 may be used by other applications.
  • You may continue to need IE8 for its ability to do certain things Firefox cannot do
    • Like Windows OS updates, Norton Updates
  • You already know you may have more than one browser installed. It is always useful to have an alternative browser for testing, comparison, and as a reserve.
