so it wasnt complicated just too much trouble ha lol
Just listing some of the possibilities here. Since it seems to be a more general problem, you also could try forums that solve IE issues. No idea whether it will be complicated to fix.

You should check for malware.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Try a addon such as this => https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/https-facebook/?src=search
Actually, you do not need an add-on to default Facebook to HTTPS. There is a setting for it on this page:
See attached screen shot.
Well I have the same problem I think, and the URL has always been https, also I have cleared cookies and cache and all and still have the same problem, I started firefox in same mode and have done a full virus scan, page is still the same since yesterday, please help
