Can you use bookmarks to link to a file on your computer, as can be done with Internet Explorer?

I have my internet explorer "favorites" organized by subject. Sometimes as I'm wanting to look for a particular site, I also want to open a spreadsheet related to the work. I can put shortcuts into the favorites subject, so that when I open the file, I can use the same area to open the spreadsheet. Chrome will not allow this. It only has urls in its bookmarks area. Will Firebox allow Windows shortcuts to files to be placed in the bookmarks organization?
