downloading adbobe player, java freezes at 99 %

plug in finder finds adobe player is missing while downloading starts it hangs at 99% same happens for java also and downloading any software It does not happen for song downloading or movie downloading I have no antivirus till date Kindly give suggestion os is windows xp proffessional v 2002 sp 2

It is possible that anti-virus software is corrupting downloaded files or is otherwise interfering with downloading files.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
