Software update failed
We have a terminal server (RDS) on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. There are about 20+ users and almost everyone uses Firefox as their default browser. Version 18.0.2 is installed. When I run FF updates, I do it when logged in as an administrator when no one else is logged on. However, for some reason, a couple users are receiving the generic software update failed message when starting Firefox. If you click ok, FF starts anyway, and when you check the version, it actually reports 18.0.2 but asks the user to restart to apply the update, which again fails. How can I clear this update check or make those instances of Firefox realize it IS up to date? This is the first time I have seen this issue, we have been using Firefox on this server for years. Hello kfishasi, version 19.0 is the latest firefox update, it is released yesterday 19 february 2013, try to Update Firefox to the latest version as an administrator when no one else is logged on, and check it again.
That's great, I will try that. Does anyone know if this issue was something that was fixed in version 19?
Upgrading to version 19 DID fix this issue.
