With Firefox 18.0.1, the browsers continues to crash. I have tried all alternatives from turning off all add-ons to resetting the browsers. What next?

With any one solution, it appears fixed but then begins to crash again. It crashes at start-up. It crashes as I move from one page to another. It crashes after being on for several minutes or sometimes for better part of an hour. It has little to do with video retrieval or any one page or speed of changing from one to another page. It has gotten worse and worse with each new upgrade and seems to have started with upgrades after 14.0. I have to believe the problem is embedded in Firefox rather than any of the suggested solutions put out by Mozilla. At present, I have all add-ons and plug-ins disabled. I am prepared to uninstall Flash and Java if that would help. I prefer Firefox but it seems Mozilla does not appreciate the frustration of not have someone, other than me, solve this problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

I methodically went through all of the suggested checks you suggested; even loading new security software that you listed. At best, the microsoft product found three java exploits that I removed or quarantined.

But after the last reboot, the same message came up on screen almost immediately. Admittedly, it is not now happening as often but it is early in my experience to say that it is at an acceptable level of annoyance.

FYI, it did seem to run unaffected in the safe mode but I can not run it continuously that way, can I? I only did it for less than an hour. What does it mean if it were to run best in the safe mode?

My only real insight is that as I started opening up my home page, I immediately went somewhere else before it had stopped loading that first page. Should that in some way produce the problem? I don't ever remember having to wait to load one page before going somewhere else.
