Please explain or point to where it is explained the structure of firefox 18. The reason I am asking this is that there are firefox folders all over the place. I need to know where the plugin folder is so that I can create a symbolic link to the java plugin

There is not one single location where all plugin files are stored. Plugins may be in the user's currently active profile folder (e.g., installed as part of an extension), or in the Firefox program folder (e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\), or in another folder referenced in the Windows registry which could be a program folder (e.g., QuickTime) or in the Windows folder (e.g., Flash).

Why do you need to create a symbolic link to a plugin?
