Firefox Metro installation problems

I installed the Nightly version of the Elm branch per the instructions on the wiki. After installation I was only able to access the metro version using the following command in the command prompt:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Nightly\firefox.exe" -metrodesktop

Once the metro app is opened I am unable to go to any websites. It just sits there and doesn't do anything. Did I do something wrong in the installation that keeps it from letting me browse online? I'm running Windows 8 Enterprise x64 on a Dell Optiplex 755 Core 2 Duo 3GHz with 6GB RAM.

Also is there a way to pin the metro version to the start menu so I don't have to run it through the command prompt every time?
