I have been trying to get FF14 installed for months now. FF13 works flawlessly and FF14 works on my laptop, but not on my desktop. It will not even open up, not even in safe mode. AND there is no crash report, I did all the steps to find a crash report that you have posted to do.

The troubleshooting I did is posted below.

Any help???

Maybe Firefox has been unclearly upgraded. Try to uninstall Firefox. Make sure everything, including your personal data and your profile are removed. Remove also temporary files from your computer. Then try to install again Firefox.

You may also try to use Firefox Portable . It doesn't store nor remember any data so if it works, there's something on your installation that works wrong.

If it doesn't work, probably you should try to update your computer, perform a antimalware scan, clean-up your computer, make sure your hardware works and restoring your system. Also you may try to test a previous Firefox build and check if it works.

If you still have problems, don't regret to reply to this question or tweet me @marcsances. I'll help you in what I can.

Thank you for your post. I'm in the middle of work, but did a fast install of the easiest thing to do, which was install the previous build, and it's running fine. (FF13 runs perfect, too), so it's running 3.6.28, which is the one you pointed me to. I haven't done the rest of the things yet, but does this mean anything that the previous builds work?

Yes, of course it does. It means your computer can run Firefox, but not the latest one. Try FF Portable. If it works, you need just to cleanup all the mess around. If it doesn't, tell me and I'll find any other way to solve it.

(Anyway, Firefox 3.6.28 is still a excellent supported solution if nothing works).

Okay, here's what happened. When I tried to close down the FF 3.6.28, I got a crash report and it was sent to Mozilla. When I tried to install the Firefox Portable, it did the same thing as FF14, just loaded in my start task manager, but wouldn't come up. So I uninstalled FF14, FF3.6 (and I can't find where the Firefox portable went to yet, am working on that), but I went ahead and installed my FF13 and it's working perfect with all the add-ons and extensions and everything. I just went to the options and told it never to check for updates and it works wonderful.

So what in the world could be going on? My profile is fine, bookmarks are fine because I have already done a clean install. Why in the world would 13 work flawlessly??
