Trying to access support.mozilla.com in Firefox just gives connecting message permantly and nothing else. Other sites seem OK. Eg add-on manager works OK.

Works OK in IE6 on same computer (thats how I'm posting this question!)

Clearing cookies and cache makes no diference and has no effect - still got the same problem

support.mozilla.org has same problem as support.mozilla.com

https seems to works OK (eg for Amazon and my bank)

Also cannot signin to ebay - get the same problem with connecting for ever

Firefox has full internet access in firewall.

Clear cache and cookies and try again. Using FF 10.0.2 here to access this site.

Do you have that problem on other sites that use a secure HTTPS connection?

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

If I enter support.mozilla.com it switches on entering to support.mozilla.org. Try the latter(.org) address and see what happens.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Trying support.mozilla.org has the same problem.

Https works OK with other sites (Amazon, my bank etc)

Now have the same connecting problem when trying to signin to ebay - just hangs at connecting.

Have removed all rules for firefox and its components from firewall and let it get full permission to the Internet as suggested - still get the same problem!!

Still works OK in IE6
