Firefox stores the bookmarks in an SQLite database file (places.sqlite), so you need to start the Firefox bookmarks manager (library) to remove bookmarks and bookmarks folders.

See (-chrome):

  • chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul
  • chrome://browser/content/bookmarks/bookmarksPanel.xul

Thank you for the re ply.

While your re ply pointed to - that cookies are stored in a database i will assume the file looking icons represent tables. And the individual bookmark entry`s to be values. It will take me some time to get the time to go fishing in Mozilla Firefox and learn what the name value is associated with Mozilla Firefox in the Terminal and the associated global values etc, in the code in there. So in between now and then i will think of a GUI that would allow a person to manage the bookmarks in a variety of options. delete all folders, delete values in a folder, place a date when the bookmark was created, add some associated notes with this book mark, etc. Thank you chow
