Followed directions for "Lost Bookmarks", but only has history for today. How do I get bookmarks back from prev. sessions?

Tried to uninstall HP Printer data, and choice of do or don't erase clips was asked. I chose do erase and lost incredible info re: desktop and web pages. After getting on to yahoo (my homepage) there was no history of bookmarks, etc. on Firefox. What the heck happened?!!!
