Support Forum

says I am using an unsupported browser

Posted

I want to speak with someone, either by phone or chat-because I don't understand why I am still getting error messages. When I check which version of Firefox I have- it says 8.0...but hardly any websites recognize this. Gmail doesn't, yours doesn't...so what is going on?

thanks

Hi,

It looks like you have a misconfigured user agent. Please try this: Open a new tab and type in about:config. Hit enter, click I'll be careful, I promise! and start typing useragent in the Filter. In the results right-click all the entries containing the word useragent and Reset.

cart27553, did you even read the two replies before you?

His useragent should be displaying Firefox 8.0.* but a extension he used when he had Firefox 3.0.13 made it stay stuck to that version. This has not been a issue with extensions since Firefox 4.0

Also it is 9.0.1 and not 9.1

Fast Browser Search (FBSMTWB) is a program that we see often added to user agents that are frozen to an older Firefox version like in this case happened.
