I use http://www.google.co.uk/advanced_search?hl=cy as a home page and when I search for something and later modify my search, the new word in the search disappears or, as the case may be, the deleted word disappears es not affect Bing.
When I search for "Firefox" on the URL below and click "Chwiliad Uwch", I get a results page as normal. If I want to add another word (say "Cymraeg") to the search and then click the search symbol, the new word disappears and I get the original results. I don't think that this is a Google issue as when I do the same in Google Chrome, the problem doesn't arise. I don't want to switch to Google Chrome, but the problem is so annoying that I'll have to if there is no solution.
