Create a New Profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

-> Basic Troubleshooting: Make a New Profile

IF that New Profile works then you can recover your Bookmarks and Passwords from the Old Profile.

-> Recovering important data from an old profile

Check and tell if its working.

I do not have a firefox account.. do not want one, have not had to have one for years, I also do not use sync..

There's no need for you to have any account. This is your Firefox user profile which is created on your system. To get knowledge about Firefox Profiles, see this:

Go through the links mentioned in my previous reply. Check and tell if it works.

Question owner

I never had to do this before... and I do not see how this will keep the browser from reverting back to firefox as my home page over yahoo.. Please justify your theory.
