My homepage is Yahoo Uk when I type in the search box the results are from the web & not from UK site, when I try and select the UK only tab is just defaults back to "the web" tab

My homepage is set to Yahoo UK. When I type in the search box on the homepage with "UK only" set and hit enter the results shown are from the web & not from UK sites. The tab has now changed from "UK only" to "The Web" When I try and select the UK only tab is just defaults back to "The web" tab When I use IE9 this does not happen.
