When I try to use firefox, the browser won't open. Instead it seems to quickly zoom to the right of the screen - totally out of sight. Help!

The firefox icon is visible on my task bar. When I double-click to use the brower, it doesn't open on my screen. It instead literally zooms to right of the screen, out of sight. Then if I right click on the browers icon, the browser zooms from the right back down to the icon. A menu pops-up giving me the option of "close window." When I select that option, nothing happens. Please help. Thanks!
