I already have two profiles created in firefox and i just created a third one and went back to it later on and it is not in the profile manager. I also looked in the 'profiles.ini.text file' and only the first two are in there. I tried to type in the new profile like the first two in the 'ini text file', but it didn't work. I read different articles on this site and mozillazine about recovering lost profiles, but it still never explained how to make it appear in the profile manager. I've seen more than three listed there in a youtube video about profiles so I know it can be done. Can someone please help me, I would be much appreciative. Thank you.

Chosen solution

The file profiles.ini should have a .txt file extension appended. The name should just be "profile.ini" and the Properties should confirm that it is an INI file. If that file really has a .txt file extension added then something went wrong with it and you need to rename the file to "profile.ini" (use the quotes to force .ini file extension. You may have also security software that is protecting .ini files and restore them silently.

Thank you for the reply. I forgot to save the new profile when i typed it in to the notepad in the "ini' file. Its listed in the profile manager now. I also had a problem that i might post here too about not being able to delete bookmarks. I've backed them up and deleted the "places" files & and they are still listed in there. I don't know what else to do.
