Is there a way be able to view websites designed for use in IE6?

more options

There are some websites that still exist that have been designed exclusively for use with IE6. This has something to do with the html coding that is used only in IE6. IE7 &8 both have a compatability mode so that they can view/run webistes that IE6 exclusive. I am trying to avoid usind IE at all but as these particular websites are essential to the everyday running of the business I stiil need to access them. I am wondering if there is some form of add on or mode that can be installed/switched on to enable me to use Firefox instead of IE? I cannot provide url details as these are secure websites.
