My home page is blank and cannot set

I am using FF 4 but this problem also was present in the previous version...No matter how I try to set a home page, regardless of which site, it does not work...The home page when checking after closing and opening browser is "blank". I have scanned with Avira AV, Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro for possible infections but no detections. I am able to set the home page in Opera, Pale Moon and IE9.Help please. Thank You
