Why FF is not opening links in new tabls? Opening in same tab.

All of a sudden today, FF is opening everything in the same tab. I have not changed any settings and under Tool Options, settings are open everything in new tabs. I have tried several settings to get it to open in new tab and it opens everything in the same tab. I can right click and tell it manually to open in a new tab, but it will not automatically do it. I have not changed settings and it was fine earlier this week.
