I upgraded firefox, now when i access internet via firefox it stops working

I was prompted to upgrade firefox so I did. After the download was finished, I clicked on the desktop icon to connect to the internet, my home page, as I have always and the page loads and this translucent white comes over the whole page and an error window pops up and states firefox has stopped working and windows will try to determan what the problem is and let me know.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

I did the upgrade

uninstall firefox via control panel in windows, then re-install via firefox website. A clean reinstall is usually the fastest way to resolve problems encountered after an upgrade.
