How do I stop the flashing black bar that appears on my web pages, aside from refreshing the site?

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04, with Firefox canonical for Ubuntu 1.0. At times, when I click a link, a flashing black bar, or flashing black outline of a box appears, and only goes away when i refresh the page
