My office is running Thunderbird 115. I recently changed the password. This seemed to work OK. But on restarting TB I found the new password had not been stored. The Password Manager display is empty, so I cannot edit anything, nor can I insert a new entry into the Manager. I want to store the current password. How do I do this?

There is a checkbox at the password prompt pop-up to remember the password.

Apologies. I should have mentioned that the checkbox you mention isn't visible. It is on my home version of TB but not on any of the three office ones. I have since discovered there is a setting in the Config Editor that controls this (and another that controls remembering signons) and I'll check it when I'm next able to get into the office on Monday. I'd appreciate hearing of any other likely causes for not being able to store passwords in case this isn't the one involved.

I have this problem too, even with the box checked. I have to put in the password over and over again.
