How to clean up left margin? I do not want the huge assortment of folders.

Your question isn't specific, so it's impossible to be sure of a response. To remove the list of folders, you can click view>layout and untick 'folder pane', but my guess is that isn't what you want.
Set your Favourite folders in the folder right-click menu, then set View/Folders to Favourite Folders.
