I noticed this problem yesterday for the first time. When I opened up TB and looked at my Saved Search which shows all messages for the current and previous day as well as any Unread messages I noticed that there were two emails that had no Subject or Correspondents listed as well as having the unreal date of 12/31/1969. When I selected the first one under the USPS message the preview screen showed the USPS message, but when I selected the second one located under the FindaGrave message it showed the header from the USPS message but the body was empty?!

I've attached an image I put together of the search listing and the preview pane of the first message.

Has anyone seen this behavior before, or have any ideas how to cure it?

My best guess the if not TB, the problem originates with my email hosting, or USPS. If not TB I know I'm going to have fun getting USPS to check out the problem. The email address is an old one that my email hosting service captures and forwards any emails for @sostx.com that are not current accounts (I own the sostx.com domain).

Messages with 1969 dates indicate missing Date headers so some sort of corruption is occuring.

Have you got any Anti-Virus which is allowed to scan your Profile folders? If yes, I would recommend that you do not allow anything to scan your profile folders and files because they have a habit of trying fix and causing no end of problems.

Corruption may also have occurred if you do not compact your folders meaning the mbox files storing emails may have more deleted or moved emails than current emails. The size of that file would also be a lot bigger than it's true contents.

As cause of corruption is perhaps unknown, I would recommend you move all your wanted emails out of the Inbox and store then in suitably named folders. Then when Inbox is empty. Right click on 'Inbox' and select 'compact' This should completely clean out that file so it's now ready for incoming mail.

That I know of my Malwarebytes is set up to scan everything on my "C" drive on a weekly basis, so I'll go into it and attempt to limit its' control. I've gone in and "compacted" the inbox folder as suggested so now it's a wait and see if it happens again.

Your answer was succinct and sounds very much on point, thank you.
