I've just installed Thunderbird - which I have been using for years on my desktop and laptop - on my wife's laptop. No matter what I try, I cannot locate the inbox. I'm instructed to right-click on the account name in the folders panel, but the account name isn't there. I'm offered only Mail, Address Book, Tasks and Chat. Right-clicking on the Mail option offers Open In New Tab, Open In New Window and Switch To. I can write and send an email, choosing either of two accounts, but I can't seen incoming/received ones. I have a feeling that I'm going to be embarrassed by the answer, but I'm stumped.

Well, count me embarrassed also. I've never seen anything like this. Some here may have simple fixes, but this is a situation where I would start over.
