For some idiotic reason Thunderbird is constantly creating a folder called SPAM. I want this off and never to reappear, so could someone explain how to do this. I have turned of unable adaptive junk mail and turn of the destination and retention.

This behavior is new, completely unnecessary.

Get rid of this new feature, it is not helpful

A SPAM or Bulk folder is created by the mail provider. Right-click the account in the Folder Pane, Subscribe, and uncheck (unsubscribe) the unwanted folders.
