All of a sudden the Firefox password I've been using for a long time stopped working. I went through the reset process, set a new password, and it still doesn't work! What I am doing wrong? Keeps asking me to re-enter the password, and when I do, it says it's not correct. Is this a widespread known issue?

Do not confuse the Primary Password that is used to encrypt logins stored in logins.json in the Firefox profile folder and the password for the Mozilla Account used for Sync.

The Primary Password is used only to unlock the logins stored in the Password Manager and is used locally (not part of Sync) and is profile specific.

If you cancel the PP prompt, Firefox won't be able to connect to the Sync account, but otherwise Firefox will work normally.
