I changed some settings in Firefox, or maybe Google. To filter stuff that I consider spam. I was apparently overzealous. I cannot view ANY ads from Googleads or DoubleClick. I also cannot view any ads that are labeled as "sponsored" when I do Google searchs.

Lastly I cannot even view links from my newsletters. When I get my weekly newsletter from Bloody disgusting.com and I click on the links for different horror movie reviews, it won't let me go to the story. It says address not found and the website at the top is awstrack.me

I have tried using a different browser (Chrome) and a different search engine (Duckduckgo). Nothing has worked.

Can anyone help please?

Hi Shane

Do you have any add-ons installed in Firefox for Android?

None that I can see.

In the Settings option of the Firefox for Android menu under Enhanced Tracking Protection, what level of enhanced tracking protection do you have set?

I checked that the other night and turned it off. Everything is working fine on my desktop, which I am typing this on. I thought it was the same on my desktop, but I only use it once a week. I just tested and sponsered ads are viewable and my newsletter links are working fine. It is just my phone. I got the phone a few months ago. It is a Mototola Edge (2022) with 8GB of ram, a 256GB HD running Android 12. I am up in Canada.

Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am always playing with my phone and I think that I changed somwething somewhere.

I just rebooted my phone, but still the same. I will attach two screen shots. On one of my forums I clicked on an ad at the top and the address cam out as Google ads.g.doubleclick.net and some other stuff (an a pathway I assume).

Then I did a Google search for amplifiers and clicked on a sponsored ad. This time the address was googleadservices.com/pageads/and more specifics.

Thank you for those screenshots. Are you using any security apps on your Android device?

more options

No sir. No security apps that I can see.

Have you tried clearing your browsing history and cookies in Firefox for Android? This may also reset your website preferences and you will also have to sign into websites again.

I had about this before, but I am naturally lazy. :-) However, I took your advice and tried it. I then re-booted my phone.

But nothing changed. :-(
