The latest version of Thunderbird has added a big left pad to the header information on received emails. Previous versions didn't have this pad and all the header content butted up against the left edge of the display region. It's almost like someone added a couple of zeros to the display render code. Ie. previous version had a left pad of 5 pixels but this version has a left pad of 500 pixels. I have noticed this pad will vanish if I open an email full (not using the reading pane) and shrink the window down to be very small.

Argh. Just discovered this is because View > Headers was set to ALL. Changing View > Headers to normal fixes it.

View > Headers > All causes it because the header names are right aligned and there are header names that are really long so it causes everything to look shifted to the right.
