Trash mailbox frequently does not show empty, even when emptied.

I've noticed that lately the Thunderbird Trash mailbox indicates that there is trash present after the Trash box has been emptied. I have to select another mailbox, then go back to the Trash mailbox before it correctly indicates that the mailbox has been emptied. I'm currently using version 91.10.0. This has been happening on both Windows and Linux machines in my possession. Thanks for looking into it.

Hello there mbc7592 We have read your message. We try to help you.

Your trashcan wouldn’t t empty of it s trash. Oké down here this message got some issue solvers.

Missing the trashcan icon.

If you are using the Imap protocol do what next is discribbed. Go to account settings go to server settings in there set the option to place deleted messages in to the trash folder. When this is set the folder will have to treat it like a trash folder. There will be again a trash icon folder.

First you check if this trashcan folder can be repaired. Right-click the folder you want to repair and select Properties from the menu that appears. Go to the General Information tab and select Repair Folder. See the pictures in this message.

The other way to solve this issue.

Go to help -trouble shoot information Click on the button Profile Folder -show folder. A explorer window will appear at the profile in a window of your system on screen.

Close Thunderbird, now start searching in Explorer for files named Trash.sbd and Trash.msf. Delete them. The folders will quickly appear again. No data lost.

But if you want to be shore make the backup. On usb or disk.

You can read this form here also to solve it. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cannot-delete-messages

If there is not present a trashcan folder try to delete multiple msf files. Try to locate the .msf files Delete them.

Warning do not delete other files with similar names that are discribed in this message Only the .msf files.

Greetings Firefox volunteer.
