So, a few minutes ago, I was trying to open a tab, and suddenly my tabs froze. When I clicked on the tabs, nothing happened. I couldn't get back to any of the pages I was on. So I exited the browser, and when I reopened the browser, even my pinned tabs were gone. This has happened a few times in the past. I used to just brushed it off, but I don't have the patience right now. What if this happens when I'm in the middle of typing out an essay? What if my progress isn't saved then? I can't have that happening, so I need to know. What should I do when my tabs are frozen and unresponsive?

That can happen if your system is using all its RAM or if CPU usage is high and remains high. Do you have any way of checking that easily? If that is the problem, if you have a swap partition or swap file, the problem should ease. I keep the following open in a tab and, if I can get to it, I use it to minimize memory usage. about:memory?verbose https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-uses-too-much-memory-or-cpu-resources

There may be other causes which I haven't experienced.
