This has happened a couple of times now running the most current version of Thunderbird as of 1/25/22 and for the past week my junk mail is not moving to the junk mail folder. The settings are correct in the tools and accounts. This happened about 2 months ago and then one day it started to work, now it is not again. Any ideas. I have to go through about 300 junk emails now each day which is a waste of time.

Try Tools>Run Junk Mail Controls on Folder. If TB has collected your junk preferences, this may do what you want.

David thanks already tried that too. This is very frustrating to say the least. I was using an old version of TB like 60.0 and all was good. About 4 months ago it updated to the new version at that time and has been a nightmare since then. I lost my address book which was a big problem. Tried to restore it from a backup and that would not work. I looked for the supposed backup file in the profile in data application and it was not there either. Then the junk mail was the other problem :(

I had that issue way back, like V40 or something. My issue was caused by the anti virus scanning the folder, so Thunderbird updates to it's own files were silently failing. My cure was to create an exception in the anti virus to scanning in the Thunderbird profile folder.v Eventually I just got a new anti virus product.

Matt thanks I tried this too, I completely disabled my virus program and still not detecting spam in TB. This is so frustrating and time consuming going through all the spam all day long :(

This started happening with a new computer. Very frustrating. My settings are correct, but they're not working!! Thunderbird marks them all accurately as junk but then leaves them in the inbox. I have to manually move them to the junk folder, by removing the junk flag, then clicking it back on again. I have to waste a bunch of time every day, manually moving piles of junk mail, before I can see my legitimate emails.
