Page location not remembering where I left off while in gallery or changing back and forth between pages

I just upgraded my mobile phone from Android Samsung Galaxy s10+ to Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max. After upgrading my phone I installed the Firefox browser to sync with my Windows laptop and like I used to use on my Android phone. My expectation was that the Firefox browser would work the same but I'm finding that it isn't working the same as it did on my Android phone.

The problem I'm finding is that Firefox is not remembering the page location while in normal or private browsing. For example, if I navigate to a webpage and scroll down the page to a specific link (in this case I'll use the example of a gallery but it happens on all webpages), click on the link to view the image or video and then return back to the previous page. In my Android the browser would return to where I was on the previous page allowing me to continue looking at the first page where I left off. On my Apple phone, if I follow the same steps above the browser returns to the top of the first page and not where I left off, when I clicked on the image or video on the starting page.

I'm not sure how to get this working correctly as it did on my Android and as it does on my Windows laptop but that is really annoying. Image looking at a gallery page with hundreds of images, selecting one to see larger, and then returning to the previous page to have to start over again from the top and scrolling back to where you left off.

Any help in informing me if this functionality is even possible on my Apple phone would be amazing. Maybe I changed one of the settings when setting up the browser but can't find how to reset the browser back to the default stage. I have tried deleting the history from the browser and refreshing the page but that didn't change the current functionality of the browser.

OS's currently in use: Windows 11 Home 10.0.22000 Build 22000, Firefox 95.0 Apple iOS 15.1.1, Firefox Daylight 40 (6920)
