Only downloads new messages on restart

I have 3 email accounts on my Thunderbird program. One of them has stopped automatically downloading emails (set to check every 5 minutes) and does not download when clicking the "Get Messages" button up top. The only way to successfully check for new messages, is to close and restart the program. The settings are identical on all three accounts using the same email server.
