Firefox Sync and Firefox Accounts: Private/Self-Hosted Option? Webauthn/U2F/FIDO2/other hardware security keys for multi- / two-step authentication?

I'd like to use Firefox Sync/Firefox Accounts, but without two/multi-factor/step authentication support for hardware security keys/tokens like Webauthn/U2F/FIDO2 and/or even Yubikeys and such, I can't justify the risks.

Is there a way to privately host and utilize these services on private/self-managed infrastructure, rather than using/relying on the default Accounts/Sync servers/services provided by Mozilla?

Cheers
