I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but the menus are now going crazy with strange messages - a different one for each menu item. For example

I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but the menus are now going crazy with strange messages - a different one for each menu item. For example <window xmlns="http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul. I am unable to either load any files or connect to the sbd files or create an account.
