I've only used Thunderbird for a few weeks and like it very much. However, the little button to insert images into my emails has disappeared. This feature is very important to me as I spend a lot of time helping others in various programs and I like to insert images with illustrations to make things more understandable. The Attach button is there but that doesn't help me.

Maybe I changed something in the options? I didn't notice it was gone until last week when I needed to insert an image. Ended up going to my on-line web mail to be able to insert an image in the body of the email.

Would greatly appreciate any help.

Chosen solution

Your picture shows the plain text composer, instead of the html composer. Change the default in Account Settings, Composition & Addressing (per account), or hold Shift when launching a new message to switch between plain text and html.

Enable the Formatting Toolbar in the Write window under View/Toolbars (see picture). Press Alt if the Menu Bar with View is hidden.

My Write screen doesn't look like yours and it doesn't have that option. I'm adding a screen shot of what mine looks like so it might lead to the solution to the problem.

Thank you so much!! The button is back and I am a very happy camper. I am glad I stayed with this and got it figured out because I didn't want to use another email program. I like this one. It is easy to use. I really appreciate the help I got from this forum. Thank you again! :)
