lost local folders
After a monster update on Win 10 it uninstalled Thunderbird. After I reinstalled I find that I lost all local folders except junk, trash, and outbox. This is odd since my inbox reinstated undeleted email dating back to 2018. So I look thru Thunderbird support questions and can only find answers that predating TB v. 78.9.0 (64-bit). If you have an answer for me please be specific e.g. " go to help tab, click on troubleshooting" etc. if you get my drift.
If you want to feel sorry for me that's ok. I lost all bank/IRS stuff, genealogy correspondence, program warranties, and when I think about it I just want to sit down and snivel.
BTW it also ate my address book, but I can only deal with one thing at a time.
Please help, Peggy

Hello there peggys. We have read your message. We try to help you.
try uninstalling what you updated to. Delete every profile of Thunderbird.exe And clean your pc from it with a tool like cccleaner or other. This will have no effect on your profile folder. Re-install the previous version you came from. The question is how it could have happened? Some time this actions appear after a update.
Then download and run the installer files for the Thunderbird.exe version you had before. https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/releases/

I'm having an issue. When I signed into my pc, I found that Thunderbird has been uninstalled and I have to reinstall the exact same version, 78.9.0 64 bit. This is going to take minute. Meantime I'm having an anxiety attack. So I have finally concluded that this may be related to installing a new modem/router, so I'm starting with troubleshooting that. I'll get back to you when I maybe make some progress of any kind.

I'm ready to give up. I'm having issues with Godaddy who hosts my domain name now also. I will let you know in the next few days what happens. I just wanted to check in with you so you wouldn't think I have it fixed.

All initial steps followed, installed v.78.8.0, cannot get it to open.. It says Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.
What now?
Hello there again. Ataran.
I have got some documents to read for you if you like.

Maybe this version of Thunderbird is a beta version? Try to use this version of Thunderbird.
Delete every profile of Thunderbird is a quicker way. Delete Go-daddy. Clean your computer machine and you can reinstall the version I have send you.

Reinstalled 78.9.0 and still the same problem, profile can't be loaded etc. I've come to the conclusion that I've wasted entirely too much time trying to fix Thunderbird and it's time to find another email program. I appreciate the help you've given me even if nothing solved the problem. Are you in Russia?
Thank you for using Thunderbird.
