I have a Ubuntu linux workstation running the latest version of FF 82.02 as of Nov-9-2020 and when I start the browser up it states that FF is not the default browser would you like to make FF the default. I have removed all browsers and this message continues to appear at start up. Can anyone explain why?

The issue was ubuntu-mate uses a new command to remove chromium. the command is sudo snap remove chromium. The old command sudo apt-get purge chromium removes chromium only if installed through the boutique app. this is a little confusing but I know now what FF was detecting and a little annoyed at chromium for continuing to setup as the default browser.

This issue is still outstanding. I noticed that the message FF is not the default browser returned. No other web browser exists on the Linux operating system so this is a problem with FF.

I have openSUSE running KDE. Do you have something like this in your settings?

Yes. My operating system acknowledges that FF is the default browser and since I removed all other browsers the problem is with FF.
