"Could not load page" appears when I try to access Firefox account on iPhone

I cannot use Firefox Sync on my iPhone without signing in to my Firefox account. When I try to do so I get the message "Could not load page". I am using a rather old iOS version (10.3.4) on an iPhone 5 which may be incompatible with the latest Firefox update (81.0) on my Macbook Pro. I have no problem signing into my Firefox account on my Macbook Pro. BTW I'll be upgrading my iPhone to the iPhone 12 when it comes out which may resolve the problem. Thanks in advance for any advice on how to resolve this problem.
