Hi、This is Toshi Mochizuki.

I have a serious problem with the Thunderbird mailer.

[My current Environment]

OS: Windows10 Home 64bit Ver 1909 (Japanese) Thunderbird V.68.10.0 (64bit)

Optimizing mail folders can break information in my customized tags quite often. This problem occurs in Thunderbird and earlier versions as well, with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

When this problem will be fixed ?

I don't know of any "optimize" function in Thunderbird. Are you referring to compact?

Are these pop accounts? Or imap?

I think you mean that when the Repair Folder option is applied to an IMAP folder, the tags are lost. This is usually because the server doesn't support keywords: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Tags#IMAP If the tags aren't stored on the server, only locally, they will disappear when the folder is repaired, i.e. re-downloaded from the server.

To avoid this, you could create filters that tag messages according to various rules, then run the filters manually if the tags are removed.
