Message Pane since upgrade to 68.9

Since the update last week to 68.9, the Message Pane is now very different.

I still only use TB on my desktop, so the many annoying pop-up text balloons as I scroll down the message just get completely in the way and are very annoying.

Also the message format itself is now far more cluttered now that the header info is now combined in the message view itself.

Finally, attachments - whereas before it was obvious where and what attachments were present, now we have to 'hunt' for them.

Please is there a way to customize these things to go back to how they were?

I don't see any of those changes in 68.9, so there must be something different on your setup. First, run in safe mode (hold Shift when you launch TB) to test for incompatible add-ons or broken layout. The cluttered message format could be due to something like the Conversations add-on. You should also see the Attachment Pane at the bottom of messages; click the bar at the top of the pane to toggle it on or off.

Thank you @sfhowes. Removing the CompactHeader add-on brought the message pane header and attachments footer UI components back into welcome view.
