I am limited in computer skills & very new to thunderbird. I need the same person in multiple address books. It appears that the same person can only go in one address book. How do I put the same person in 2 or 3 different address books?

Perhaps use mailing lists not address books for those lists you are creating. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-create-and-use-mailing-lists-thunderbird

With some trial & error, I managed to get into different files, with your help. Have to make sure to put in the contacts rather than personal file. Thank you Matt.

Contacts can be moved from one address book to another by drag and drop. If the Ctrl key is pressed while doing this, the contact is copied instead of moved.
