Cannot change repeated tasks

I have installed TB 68.3.0 (64 bit) on a new machine. After creating a repeated task I am unable to make any changes to it as it is greyed out when shown in the "Tasks" pane (bottom task in the attached file). The upper task is a regular one (non-recurring) and this is fine. . Thanks for your help diko
