I have put a new copy of Thunderbird onto my laptop copied the thundbird folder into the ptofile folder but the accounts are not showing up in the program. I can see the various folders are being copied across into the folder. The profile is showing in the profiles window and all of the files appear to be in the folders. any thoughts and suggestions?

regards John

Excellent worked perfectly, although I don't know what was wrong with the other location I had created. I would like to put the default folder in a different location to make it easier to backup, what is the best way of moving the folder to a new location.

When you say you copied the Thunderbird folder into the profile folder, did you do exactly that? You want to copy the Thunderbird folder into the C:\Users\windowsusername\AppData\Roaming folder:

I created a new folder in the profile builder and posted the complete folder in there over writing the files.

Without knowing exactly what folder you created and where, I recommend you follow the instructions in the link provided. Delete the Thunderbird folder under Roaming on the new computer, while TB is closed, and copy the Thunderbird folder from the other computer into the same place under Roaming.

Allow the viewing of hidden files and folders in order to access Roaming.
