remove microphone contorl box
There is a persistent device control box after I close the tab that uses it and I must restart FF for it to go away. It follows me to all virtual desktops and is really annoying and distracting.
I am on Arch Linux i3 window manager and using FF 66.0.3 64-bit

Is this the little widget that shows a camera and microphone icon and insists on floating on top? I think if you click that it should lead to where you can revoke the permissions that are keeping those running.
If it's something else, could you share a screenshot of it? Or perhaps another Linux user will recognize what you're describing.

If I revoke permissions then I have to reenable them every time I go to webex, which is 10x a day. I closed the tab, this dialog not closing with it is a defect.

Hmm, It seams These where for webex teams and when I close that tab then it goes away.
I wonder if webex and webex teams is using the same domain for media and it causes this issue.

Is it possible that even when you close the tab, the site still has a service worker running? You can view registered service workers by typing or pasting about:serviceworkers in the address bar and pressing Enter/Return to load it.
You could file a new bug and see if the developers agree:
