According to my Uninstall programme, I have a v 60.0 and a v66.0.3 installed on the same day -do I need both?
Using Win 10 on PC

Hi Tom, I don't think anyone else has covered this, but the cause of the problem is most likely the third-party uninstaller you are using.
The solution here is to not use third-party programs for installing or uninstalling Firefox.

Shockwave Flash 29.0 r0
Shockwave Flash 30.0 r0

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.
Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows {web link} Uninstall Flash Player | Mac {web link}
Then reinstall the latest version.
Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.
Flash Player Version 32.0.0171
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

You can have more than one Firefox version installed if you want. But each should have its own profile folder.
But you can remove the older version if you want.

Did that and lost both! Seems that whatever Firefox downloaded and installed were both required
The Firefox 60 version could have been an older (ESR) version that was previously installed. Sometimes the updater or installer doesn't remove an existing version in "Windows Control Panel -> Programs" and you end up with multiple versions showing as installed where actually only one version is installed.
You can find the full version of the current Firefox release (66.0.3) in all languages and all operating systems here:

That's what I thought, but didn't know if part of an older version was retained and built on - clearly uninstalling the "older" version, but with the same date, removed everything and I had to start from scratch

Yes. Sometimes it's helpful to see the system information to see if there is a clue to the problem or other problems.
No Personal Information Is Collected. At the upper-right of the support post, look for Question details.

The Firefox 60.0 (60.6.1 esr is current) is on the ESR (Extended Support Release) channel while the Firefox 66.0 (66.0.3 is current) is on the Release channel.
A version on ESR channel will not update to a version on Release channel nor the other way as they are separate. One does not need the other to work either.
ESR is meant more for Enterprise users in mind as the ESR channel only get security and allowed stability fixes in order to make things more stable and easier for IT in testing and deploying on systems.

Hi Chris Ilias,
It was the fact that two versions were shown as installed that I was querying. Anyway, I've sorted it and now only have one. Thanks
