I'm right clicking to Send To Mail Recipient. When TB 60 is not open nothing happens. When TB is open is closes. I've checked default programs and TB is set.

I'm right clicking on a desktop file (or any file) to Send To Mail Recipient. When TB 60 is not open nothing happens. When TB is open is closes and no new dialog boxes or windows open as they use to with the previous version of TB I used.

I've checked default programs and TB is set. I'm using Windows 7 Pro and TB 60.0b9 (64-bit),

We've just upgraded from TB 2.0.0.2-- great release, just needed to be able to view more remote content so after looking at all the different releases I chose 60 for us with Lightning and Provider for google calendar integration. Quite a change after all these years. I'm happy to downgrade if this is a known glitch that hasn't been fixed or isn't available.

You mention: TB 60.0b9 (64-bit)

Where did you download that from? It is also a beta version not the current release version 60. 64 bit is also not in current release - not for Windows OS.

Suggest you try using version 60 (32bit) https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/

To assist with debugging: When you set up the Thunderbird as default program. Please check the Control Panel > Default Programs > 'Set Program Associations' Is there a .wdseml option ? Is Thunderbird selected to use it? see image below as guide.

See the first 'Known Issue' here. This most often affects Win7, and the remedy is to install the Visual Studio runtime.

Thank you for your help. Not sure where I downloaded that version, I thought I just answered questions and that was the current release. I did check the default associations and they were set to Thunderbird (two of them to Thunderbird Messenger).

I downloaded and installed 60 32-bit and everything seems good. Thank you so very much. Michael
